★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Anchor powerlifting in Durham the spot if you a powerlifter. I was in Durham, NC visiting family and I thought I was not about to get my lifts in, but I searched the web and for the gem of a gym! It's a powerlifters dream. If you ever visiting Durham, NC or if you stay in Durham, NC and you a powerlifter this is the gym for you!
July 14 · Carlos BatesPart of me doesn’t want to write a review because I want to keep this facility as a secret because it truly is a lifter’s dream facility. I was in town visiting family and friends from San Francisco and I was looking for a fitness studio that has barbells, heavy weights, and kettlebells. If you are looking for the same - whether here on a short weekend and wanting to get a quick lift in or resident of town - THIS IS YOUR PLACE!I did a drop-in session and John was communicative and hospitable in getting me set to enter the studio in a Sunday morning. Once I arrived, they had everything you could think of - barbells, a wide range of weights, a variety of machines. One thing for me that was a great touch - a hex bar for deadlifts - which I do not find often in my travels to local studios so it was a welcomed surprise! The facility was large and most importantly spotless - well kept and organized.they even had supplies to sanitize and clean your equipment after use.Thank you to the Anchor Powerlifting Team for brining this gem to the Bull City! I will be back soon!
August 08 · Kevin-Lamont BacharMe, my fiancée, and some friends came down to visit to check the place out and we were thoroughly impressed with all the equipment Anchor has to offer for the recreational and competitive powerlifter. Aside from the specialized powerlifting equipment (combo racks, kg plates, and specialty bars), they also had enough machines and equipment that covered a wide variety of accessory and bodybuilding movements such as a leg extension/curl machine, a plate loaded chest supported row machine, and a pin loaded lat pulldown machine. Owners John and Holli were very accommodating host and made us feel super welcome and answered all our questions. As a gym owner and powerlifter myself, I highly recommend this gym!
June 26 · Matthew OctavianoGreat powerlifting gym! Not for mainstream, but address the niche of powerlifting!
July 20 · Craig WargoGreat powerlifting gym! Process to get a day pass was simple & quick. This gym has everything a powerlifter needs plus some! Clean & organized! My wife & I had a great bench workout! We’ll be back!
